Provincial Nominee Programs

Provincial Nominee Programs enable Canadian provinces and territories to select individuals who wish to settle in their province. Each Canadian province and territory has its own immigration programs based on their actual labour market needs.

Becoming a permanent resident of Canada through a Provincial Nominee Program is a two-step process:

  1. Apply to your provincial or territorial nominee program. Once nominated, you will be issued a nomination certificate.
  2. Apply for permanent residence to IRCC under the Provincial Nominee class.

Starting January 1, 2015, many provinces and territories have been accepting applications under new Express Entry streams providing a faster pathway to those seeking to immigrate to Canada.
